Great opportunity for an interim Senior Legal Counsel with an innovative and fast-paced Digital Media Agency.

This role will be the number 2 in the legal department supporting the Global General Counsel, who is based in the UK.

The opportunity will be extremely broad supporting the London and New York offices, with occasional travel to the US.

*This role is looking for someone who can start immediately/on very short notice and the contract is likely to last until the end of the year (possibly longer)*

Location: There is an office in London, but equally this person can choose to be fully remote if preferred.

The role:

• Provide high quality commercial legal advice to a variety of departments including: Editorial, Sales, Finance, HR, and other internal stakeholders.
• Review, negotiate and draft various commercial contracts, including content, technology, services, procurement and distribution with global counterparties.
• Support the company in handling legal disputes as and when necessary.
• Work closely with external counsel regarding defamation and IP.

Requirements:

• Qualified solicitor (6-10 years pqe) with training at a leading law firm or media boutique firm ideally.
• Inhouse experience a must, ideally within the Digital Publishing, Advertising or the Technology industry.
• Solid negotiating and drafting commercial contract skills.
• Commercially astute.
• Good knowledge of IP and Data Protection.
