Tempting Recruitment are working on behalf of our client, a

local authority in

South London, to recruit an experienced

Commissioning Officer. If you are looking to increase your earnings for the year,


Contract: 3-6 months (Possible Extension)

Salary:
£300 a day (Umbrella)

Start Date:
February 2023

Shift Pattern: 36 hours / Full-time (09:00am - 17:00pm)

DUTIES

  • To assess current commissioning arrangements for specific areas of service provision (Public Health), develop, and deliver an appropriate commissioning programme.
  • To lead on specific projects that help shape and influence the provider market to deliver departmental priorities.
  • To act as the first point of contact for external providers in relation to commissioning issues, taking responsibility for negotiating with providers.
  • To lead on the deployment of the most appropriate procurement vehicle to deliver high quality, value for money services.
  • To lead on and manage strategic service reviews, to plan and deliver effective change management programmes.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
  • At least 2 years previous experience within a Commissioning role or equivalent.
  • Relevant professional qualification in Commissioning and/or Procurement, or recent relevant experience.
  • Proven experience of successful commissioning to improve outcomes for children, young people and adults.
  • Understanding of the principles and best practice in the commissioning and monitoring of Public Health.
