We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Family and Matrimonial Solicitor to join our expanding team.

    Job Description:

    As a Family and Matrimonial Solicitor you will play a crucial role in providing legal expertise and support to clients facing family and matrimonial issues. You will handle a diverse caseload, offering comprehensive advice and representation across various family law matters, including divorce, child custody, financial settlements, cohabitation agreements, and domestic violence cases.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Client Consultation and Communication:
      • Conduct initial consultations with clients to understand their legal needs and objectives.
      • Maintain open and clear communication throughout the legal process, keeping clients informed of developments in their cases.
    2. Case Management:
      • Manage a varied caseload of family and matrimonial matters.
      • Conduct legal research and analysis to build strong cases and provide informed advice.
      • Draft legal documents, including petitions, agreements, and court submissions.
    3. Negotiation and Mediation:
      • Engage in negotiation and mediation processes to achieve amicable resolutions where possible.
      • Represent clients in court when necessary, presenting cases persuasively and professionally.
    4. Legal Advocacy:
      • Attend court hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings to advocate for clients.
      • Stay up-to-date with changes in family law and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
    5. Client Advocacy:
      • Demonstrate empathy and sensitivity when dealing with clients in emotionally charged situations.
      • Provide clear and realistic advice to clients, managing expectations while working towards favorable outcomes.

    Requirements:

    • Qualified solicitor with a number years of post-qualification experience in family and matrimonial law.
    • Strong knowledge of UK family law statutes, case law, and legal precedents.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proven ability to handle a diverse caseload with efficiency and attention to detail.
    • Experience in negotiation, mediation, and court advocacy.
    • Commitment to client confidentiality and ethical legal practice.

    In return our client is offering this role hybrid with one day in their Dorset office.
