    Position Title:

    We are in search of a versatile Data Centre engineer to join a prominent organisation located in Acton, West London.

    Your role will involve collaborating with a small team to deliver Data Centre services to a prestigious international financial institution.


    Responsibilities for our Data Centre Engineer encompass:

    Operating on a 24/7/365 shift schedule, with 4 days on and 4 days off, followed by 4 nights on and 4 nights off.

    Managing change control procedures.
    Handling incident management and resolution.
    Overseeing and tracking assets.
    Supervising and escorting third-party vendors.
    Planning and executing all IT hardware installations, adhering to stringent Data Centre standards.
    Strategising and executing network hardware and structured cabling decommissioning.
    Keeping all pertinent documentation and inventories up-to-date.
    Fulfilling all service requests within agreed-upon SLAs.
    Complying with client health and safety protocols.
    Adhering to manufacturer and client quality standards.
    Following approved processes from the client and support services.
    Ensuring compliance with Data Centre security procedures.


    Task Description:
    Maintaining Data Centre tool sets supporting support and management.
    Exercising management and governance over the Data Centre.
    Collaborating closely with facility providers to maximize energy efficiency savings.
    Ensuring the smooth daily operation of the Data Centre, encompassing installations, decommissions, changes, and maintenance.
    Participating in service improvement projects related to the Data Centre.
    Conducting basic server configurations (IDRAC, ILO).Troubleshooting and escalating issues.
    Handling tasks such as racking, stacking, moves, changes, decommissioning, and patching.
    Contributing to major infrastructure projects related to the Data Centre, including power outages and replacements.
    Managing intricate inter-rack and inter-room cable infrastructure to provide a stable platform for IT infrastructure and desktop connectivity.

    Qualifications we seek in our Data Centre Engineer:
    Prior experience in high-risk environments and Data Centres.

    Familiarity with DCIM tools and standards (preferable).Experience with ServiceNow, Remedy, or other ticketing systems (preferable).Keen attention to detail and a proactive approach.

    Proficiency in Infrastructure Technologies and Networking Concepts.
    Competency in MS Office and Helpdesk/Service Delivery Applications.
    Dependable and a team player.
    Ability to perform under pressure.
    Self-reliant and capable of working unsupervised.
    Adaptable regarding shift patterns.
    Effective written and verbal communication skills at all levels.
    Strong organizational, interpersonal, and administrative abilities.
