    Job summary

    The Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust have another opportunitywhich has arisen within the Facilities Directorate for a full time GeneralPorter to join our dedicated facilities team in portering. To provide an efficient, effective and fully comprehensive portering service acrossTunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.

    The full time hours are per week , based on rostered shift patterns.

    We are looking for lively and enthusiastic individuals that have excellentinterpersonal and communication skills who are well motivated andhardworking and able to work as part of our team.

    Previous experience of working within a healthcare environment would beadvantageous but not essential as training will be provided.

    Main duties of the job

    The General Porter will be a multi-skilled person working with a team. To beresponsible for maintaining a comprehensive professional and responsivehigh quality porter service to patients, staff, visitors and all service users. Toundertake the movement of patients, equipment, documentation, linen,waste etc. in an efficient and safe manner. Maintain a clean and safeenvironment in accordance with the specification and be responsive toservice needs as they arise and constantly seek to improve the productivityand quality of the service.

    Undertake necessary duties to ensure that an efficient portering service ismaintained. These duties will be carried out both in patient and non-patientenvironments.

    All work must be undertaken in line with Health and Safety, InfectionPrevention, Security and all Trust Policy and Procedures.
