About the role

The Communities Service sits within the Strategy & Partnerships directorate, and works in close partnership with both statutory organisations and the voluntary and community sector to support community development across Cambridgeshire.


The service wishes to appoint a fixed-term (one year) Project Support Officer to help deliver an ambitious programme of capital projects across the County.

What will you be doing?

The Project Support Officer role has been created to support the delivery of the Cambridgeshire Priorities Capital Fund (CPCF), a £1M funding programme of 26 community capital grants, awarded to village halls, parish councils, schools and voluntary organisations across Cambridgeshire to support the upgrading and improving of community assets.

The PSO will ensure the grant programme is delivered in line with the Council's Grants to External Organisations Policy.

About you
You will be highly organised and motivated, and able to communicate effectively with a range of different stakeholders. You will be proactive and able to work under own initiative within guidelines.

You will have an excellent understanding of project management and previous experience of working within a project support role. You will have the confidence to follow up on actions, chase submissions, etc.


You will have advanced level experience of using MS Excel for creating/ maintaining spreadsheets, and conducting data analysis, and experience of using SharePoint for managing documents and version control.
