    Role Overview:

    The firm is seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager to join the team, focusing on the Healthcare sector. This role presents a unique opportunity to spearhead business growth initiatives within one of the most critical and rapidly evolving industries in the UK. As a key member of the Business Development team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying, cultivating, and securing opportunities for the full-service law firm within the healthcare domain. We don't need someone who has worked with or in Healthcare. We need someone that is confident, strategic and wants to understand the market place (there is a lot of internal support).

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Leading the development and implementation of strategic business plans for the NHS Health & Care and Independent Health & Care Sectors.
    • Creating and implementing key client plans, advising on client development activity, client review meetings, feedback interviews/surveys, and reports.
    • Serving as the BD lead for regular Sector meetings, providing strategic advice, ideas, and guidance.
    • Working with Sector Heads, Department Heads, and the Knowledge & Information Team to identify and respond to market and legal/regulatory changes within the Sectors.
    • Creating compelling marketing campaigns to promote services and solutions, utilizing the full range of channels including email, web, social, events/sponsorships, PR, and direct marketing.
    • Planning and delivery of an annual program of events and sponsorships - in-person and online - to raise profile and create networking opportunities.
    • Developing client publications and thought leadership content to engage clients and share knowledge, utilizing a range of different formats including text, video, audio, and infographics.
    • Overseeing and directing the development of marketing collateral for the sectors to showcase expertise through brochures, promotional videos, web content, case studies, etc.
    • Producing persuasive proposals/pitches presentations and supporting the Bids Team in responding to formal bids within the sectors.
    • Working with legal framework owners (e.g., NHS Resolution, NHS Commercial Alliance Framework, Health Trust Europe, and NHS Shared Business Service) to ensure they meet their obligations under these frameworks and prepare for framework reviews.
    • Overseeing relevant legal directory and award submissions.
    • Managing the BD budgets for the sectors, ensuring maximum ROI from all activities.
    • Providing sector updates through internal comms channels and regular Board reports.
    • Collaborating with the wider BD & Marketing team to share best practice and develop cross-sector legal solutions and campaigns.
    • Utilizing CRM systems - Peppermint CRM and Introhive - to support BD, marketing, and client development activity.
    • Developing relationships with key clients, prospects, intermediaries, industry groups, journalists, etc., and using these to support and enhance BD and marketing activities.

    Requirements:

    • 5+ years' experience of BD/marketing within a professional services environment.
    • Health and care sector experience would be advantageous.
    • Proven track record of developing an organization's profile and reputation through marketing events, communications, and campaigns.
    • Experience of identifying, generating, and supporting the conversion of new business opportunities.
    • Confident team player able to forge effective working relationships.
    • Highly motivated, self-driven, results-oriented.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills - able to communicate clearly, concisely & credibly.
    • Highly commercial - able to understand clients, the markets in which they operate, and the challenges and opportunities they face.
    • Very organized, with the ability to multi-task and deliver to deadlines.
    • Experience using the Microsoft Office suite, CRM systems, and financial software/reports.
    • Degree or equivalent professional work experience.
