Director of People Services

Salary:
up to £95,000 per annum

Location:
Hybrid position, with the requirement to attend offices in Central Birmingham once per week, and as required.

Overview of the Role

Reed HR are proud to be exclusively retained by an established public body, as they seek to appoint a Director of People Services, an integral and crucial member of the organisations Executive Team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and leading the PeopleServices Team.


The Director of People Services will be a senior advisor to the Chairman and the Chief Executive, and lead, from a people perspective, the delivery of the organisation's corporate strategy, ensuring the best talent is attracted and retained, by taking apeople centric approach of managing change.

This will include maintaining up to date policy, consistent with the status of a public body, and will prioritise the organisations continued effort to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion.


The Director of People Services will lead on the delivery of major people change initiatives and will lead the People Services Team to provide trusted professional advisory services to the organisations managers.

Personal Attributes of the People Services Director
My client is seeking a suitably qualified, senior Human Resources professional, who has solid, demonstrable leadership experience.

Due to the nature and complexity of the organisation, it is preferred that you have had exposure to the public sector previouslyand understand its nuances.

The People Services Director will have experience of designing and implementing tangible talent acquisition and retention strategies. A successful track record of facilitating and delivering people change initiatives, supporting wider organisational transformation.
Diversity, equality, and inclusion is high on the agenda, it is important that you have experience within this area.


It is essential that you have experience of operating at an Executive level, acting as a trusted advisor to the top team, and have experience of advising Boards and Committees, managing a wide range of stakeholder interests.


You will be passionate about leading a highly successful team, nurturing their development, and empowering them to be a high performing People Services operation.

Personally, you will be approachable, engaging, willing to challenge and be confident in your advisory and leadership capability.

You will be happy to hold difficult conversations with tact and discretion and be an advocate for change and transformation,delivering tangible results.
