    Job description

Permanent, Full Time 37 hours per week
Permanent, Part Time 18.5 hours per week

We are delighted to offer the opportunity to come and join the Disabled Children Occupational Therapy Team. If you are looking for a friendly, supportive and dynamic team with lots of opportunity to develop your skills, look no further

In addition, a pay award has recently been agreed in recognition of our role, so it is a great time to join us.

We are an established team of Occupational Therapists and support staff with the primary aim of enabling and supporting disabled children and young people to live at home within their family setting, to maintain independence and to promote safety within their home environment. We do this by working with the child and their family to achieve their goals, via a variety of interventions – primarily through the provision of specialist equipment and adaptations.

We have close working relationships with our colleagues in the wider Social Care service and with Housing, Health and Education. We also work closely with contractors, equipment reps, agents and our equipment provider.

We hold regular CPD and training sessions and are always open to new ideas to develop and improve the service. Supervision and consultation are given regularly in addition to informal support on a day to day basis.

We have openings for two therapists (1x FTE and 1x 18.5hr post) who are passionate about working with disabled children and making a positive impact. You will need to have excellent communication skills and plenty of common sense, show a good use of initiative, be innovative and work well under pressure. You will need to be flexible, adaptable and work well on your own as well as part of a team.

If this sounds like you, then we'd love to hear from you.

Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
