We have an opportunity for a
Group Digital Dev Ops - Systems Admin Exec to join our Digital team here at the
Regatta Group.


The Group Digital Ops - systems admin exec, is responsible for the delivery, maintenance, security, compliance and performance of the Digital Infrastructure, with a focus on the company's eCommerce websites running on AWS, and middleware systems running on various platforms.

Where projects are delivered on the company's eCommerce websites, they will also be responsible for ensuring software is delivered on secure, optimised infrastructure.


The role is to plan, direct, and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of computer systems and digital infrastructure to ensure the stable operation of the organisation's Digital assets.

This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing digital infrastructure and communication links.

Working alongside senior members of the direct team, the role also ensures that security and GDPR compliance is embedded into all developments and amendments that take place.


The role reports into a Senior Developer, and to deliver projects they will be able to utilise members of the immediate team - consisting of developers, testers, and members of the wider team to achieve the business goals and objectives.


The Impact you will have in this role is:

Testing Infrastructure

  • That all test environments will be maintained to allow realistic testing
  • That where applicable. automated selenium testing will be embedded within the infrastructure
  • That performance testing will take place, to mimic consumer activity

Maintenance of Production Infrastructure

  • Reviews will take place periodically to ensure infrastructure is optimised and will use elements of from the 5 Pillars of the AWS Well Architected Framework, Operational Excellence; Security; Reliability; Performance Efficiency; Cost Optimization.
  • Where applicable, automated selenium testing will be embedded within the infrastructure
  • Systems adhere to PCI/ISO/ACL compliance
  • Systems undergoes penetration testing periodically

Infrastructure Development

  • The serverless functions can be put in place to reduce the legacy technology used within the Digital platforms
  • Move to more on demand infrastructure

Digital Support

  • The management of users in accordance with GDPR and relevant ACL's
  • The management of a support desk and knowledgebased systems.
  • The management of DNS entries and SSL certificates
  • Digital Support Team will take a lead in incident management, reporting to relevant parties
  • Scheduling systems will be maintained
  • Scheduling systems / web servers will have appropriate alert messages associated to them
  • Managing third party provider/supplier accounts, including working with payments, and working with their support where required

We don't expect you to be an expert in all areas below, but as our future Digital Dev Ops - Systems Admin Exec, you will have proven experience in some of the points below:

  • Infrastructure management, using the 5 Pillars of AWS Well-Architected Framework
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
  • Serverless processes
  • Administration of ecommerce systems
  • Managing user access on group software and systems
  • Monitor server/database performance using Amazon Web Services
  • Maintain Systems to Monitor Processes and User Action Logs using Amazon Web Services
  • Generate SSL certificates
  • Manage DNS entries
  • Knowledge of CI/CD Technologies (Terraform, Packer, Puppet, Jenkins, Docker)
  • Awareness of the importance in planning and developing for trade activity and large events for peak periods.
  • Assist in the Management of infrastructure budget
  • Evaluating costs of Third-Party Tools
  • Understanding of the importance of complying to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • PCI / ISO

Optional preferred skills

  • Jira
  • JMeter Performance Tools / Selenium Testing Tools
  • MYSQL language experience.
  • Knowledge of server administration software (file share, web server, containers, etc.)
  • AWS
