    Locum Consultant Radiologist - 12 month post

    Location - Harefield Hospital

    Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant in Radiology to join a successful and enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team providing the full range of diagnostic imaging procedures for our own patients and those of neighbouring hospitals. This is a post for a Locum Consultant in Radiology (whole-time) based at Harefield Hospital, which provides a 12 month locum cover in order to provide additional support to the rest of the team in delivering a successful lung screening programme on the Harefield site. This additional post also supports the delivery of the increasing service within all imaging modalities.

    Main duties of the job

    The principal role of this post is to provide clinical services in Radiology, working closely with 4 other radiology consultant colleagues.

    The post holder will be responsible for delivery of high-quality clinical care for patients being seen through the imaging department.

    A suitable post holder will engage in clinical research in imaging.

    Applicants are required to be fully registered Medical Practitioners and must be on the GMC's Specialist Register or within six months of eligibility at the time of interview.

    Job responsibilities

    This is an additional post for a Locum Consultant in Radiology (whole-time) based at Harefield Hospital site of the Trust.

    The post holder will be responsible for delivery of high-quality clinical care for patients being seen through the Radiology department.

    To provide clinical services in Radiology at Harefield Hospital.

    To engage in clinical research in imaging at a level in keeping with the 5* research rating of Kings College London.

    To supervise and deliver clinical and technical education in cardio-thoracic radiology, and to maintain the international teaching profile of the Trust.

    The post holder will be expected to demonstrate commitment to training and research especially, but not exclusively in the field of imaging.

    The post holder will participate in the delivery of a lung screening programme on this site and work closely with the other North West London sites

    Qualifications / Training

    Essential

  • On the Specialist Register of The GMC or within 6 months of eligibility at the time of interview
  • MB BS or equivalent
  • FRCR or equivalent
  • Desirable

  • Higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent)
  • MRCP or FRCS or equivalent
  • Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

    Essential

  • Teaching skills
  • Ability to conduct clinical audit
  • Desirable

  • Ability to conduct research and teaching at national level skills and computer literacy
  • Ability to initiate & supervise research
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Substantial experience in cardio-thoracic imaging
  • Experience in PET-CT
  • Experience in interventional radiology
  • Research experience and contributions to major professional conferences
  • Desirable

  • Experience of departmental management including personnel and budgetary management
  • Experience in a national screening programme
