Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and well organized Administrator to join our MSK admin team.

You will work collaboratively with other team members and be responsible for providing first class administrative support service to the King's Pain Management Services.


This is an exciting opportunity to work within a busy, supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary musculoskeletal service for King's College Hospital based at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup.


The post holder will be expected to ensure a comprehensive effective administrative service to all consultants, specialist nurses, medical staff and their team within the clinical unit to allow the smooth and efficient performance of the service.

You will be expected to liaise with the multi-disciplinary team, internal departments and external agencies to ensure continuity in achieving excellence in patient care.


Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are essential as the post holder will be expected to be able to communicate effectively and sensitively with a wide range of people including patients, colleagues, sub-contractors and external agencies.


The post holder will be responsible for supporting and providing an effective administrative service to the Pain Departments at Queen Mary's Hospital and remotely for the Princess Royal Pain Team.

He/she will liaise with the multi-disciplinary team, internal departments and external agencies to ensure continuity in achieving excellence in patient care.

Administrative Duties


To provide full admin support to the Medical Secretary and Clinicians including processing of clinic letters, reports and inpatient summaries using the EPIC system, ensuring that quality standards are met.


To ensure all patient demographic details (address, postcode, GP & Ethnic Group) are checked and any amendments/corrections are carried out in an accurate and timely fashion.

To support the medical secretaries in ensuring that all clinical letters are processed and sent to the GP.


With appropriate training and supervision to act as the first point of contact for users of the Trust, dealing with telephone calls and enquiries promptly and efficiently, providing immediate response and escalating as necessary.

These will include personal enquiries from patients and their relatives, as well as calls from GP's, clinicians, students, nursing and administrative staff, at all times understanding the sensitive nature of calls.

To organise the opening and sorting of post and preparing replies to routine correspondence.

Provide support and organisation for all group sessions within the MSK Service

To deal with appointments including cancellation of clinics, rescheduling and ensuring onward referrals are processed

To support the team in ensuring patient pathways are managed in line with RTT targets.

To provide support to the Pain admissions team.
