    An opportunity has arisen at CDT for a Chemist, to work as a Post Doctoral Researcher, interested in developing the n ext generation of fluorescent tags (F-Tags) for biomedical applications.

    In this role, you will provide a strong scientific contribution to the development of fluorescent nanoparticles, designing and synthesising novel fluorophores for inclusion in our proprietary F-Tags.

    You will hold a degree and PhD in Organic Chemistry / Organic Materials Science, or a Chemistry degree coupled with equivalent relevant industrial work experience.

    A track record of the design and successful synthesis of novel organic molecules to meet a technical need and experience of overcoming challenges in organic synthesis are key requirements for the role.

    In addition, experience in one or more of the following areas would be highly desirable:

    Experience in the design and synthesis of organic materials to meet a technical need, in particular fluorescent materials.
    The use of computational methods to develop materials to a target specification.
    Experience with the applications of F-Tags.
    An ability to manage sub-projects.

    You will be a team-player with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels of the organisation on both a technical and non-technical level.
