Job Title: Chef de Partie/ Sous Chef
Location: Connington, Cambridge.
Salary: £24,500k-£30k per annum DOE
Hours: A maximum of 40 hours per week, working Wednesday to Sunday afternoon.
Availability: Immediate start date
Contract: Permanent
We are currently seeking an outstanding and professional Chef de Partie/Sous Chef, to work in an exciting, vibrant pub and restaurant for one of our clients. The restaurant is in the beautiful area of Connington, Cambridge. Given the restaurant's location, the ideal candidate must be able to drive.
The Chef oversees food preparation, whilst maintaining consistent standards and assisting the Head Chef in menu development. You will assist the head chef and the rest of the team, in the successful operation of the kitchen, ensuring that all recipes and food practices are followed to ensure guest satisfaction throughout the estate.

Responsibilities include:

Prepare, cooking and presenting high quality dishes with the specialised division.

Preparing pastry, butchery, seafood, sauces and vegetables

Ensuring dishes are served on time.

Controlling portion size and waste

Capable of working independently and managing your kitchen

Maintain good cleaning standards in areas under your authority, following pre-opening and closing schedule and checklists.

Follow all health and safety and food and hygiene laws, including those specific to the company.

Assist in ensuring kitchen compliance with Food & Hygiene legislation, Health & Safety Act and other applicable legislation.

Work as part of a team with excellent communication skills and a flexible mindset.

Qualifications & Experience

A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Chef de partie, in a similar establishment

Familiarity with culinary techniques and food preparation

The ability to thrive in a high- pressure environment.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery.

Passionate about food, flavours specifically in cooking in classic pub dishes and working with French cuisine.

Preferably you will have your own knife set
