In House Commercial LawyerFantastic role for a commercial lawyer in a fast moving organisation in the consumer sector.You will join an established team reporting to the Head of Legal.
This is broad in house role where you will gain exposure to a diverse organisation in a high growth phase.
The team culture is positive, high energy and fun with the tone set from the top.Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
Commercial contractsManaging the legal risk in commercial relationships with suppliers, both goods for resale (stock suppliers) and goods & services not for resale (non-stock suppliers), including tenders, contracts and disputesDrafting complex and strategic supplier contracts and negotiating their termsDeveloping, and ensuring compliance with, templates and standard termsIdentifying and implementing improvements to the supplier contracting processCollaborating with the group team to adopt new contract management systemPartnering with the group Procurement team and external counsel to manage the supplier risk in an efficient and practical mannerData protectionManaging the business' risk as a data controller, particularly governanceNegotiating the contractual arrangements with data processorsAligning best practice with the groups data policies and processesContinually identifying data risks, proposing solutions and managing stakeholdersAdvertising, marketing, and promotionsEnsuring that marketing and promotional activity complies with applicable legislation while delivering the commercial objectivesManaging the risk to reputation from marketing and promotional activityLitigationAdvising on disputes with counterparties and leading settlement negotiationsOverseeing the management of liability claims from customers and employeesThere will be an expectation to be office based for 2-3 days per week from their Somerset based HQ.We are looking for a qualified commercial lawyer looking to move in house.
