An exciting opportunity has become available within Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust's to lead the Medical Staffing Team.


We are seeking a dynamic and tenacious Head of service who will be responsible for leading and managing a dedicated team of staff to develop the provision of a comprehensive Medical Staffing service which includes; recruitment, selection and retention of Medical Staff, rotation and deployment of clinicians, as well as offering specialist advice on Medical Staffing terms and conditions, performance management, appraisal and revalidation.


We are seeking a senior manager with the courage to implement new and innovative ways of working, the ability to lead from the front and develop and enable a team of staff with the desire to further improve and transform CFT's Medical Staffing Service.

Main duties of the job:


To provide strategic leadership and overall responsibility for the delivery of a quality, comprehensive and customer focused professional Medical Staffing service that is aligned to the strategic and operational needs of the Trust.

This includes overall leadership and management of the team, processes & policies, systems, associated SLAs & KPIs and day to day management of the Medical Staffing budget.

To support the organisation to be effective, fit for purpose and to achieve its strategic objectives.

To oversee the implementation of best practice within Medical Staffing.

Lead on the operational delivery and implementation of assigned strategy work plans, providing responsive and supportive solutions to on-going transformation within the Trust.

Work closely with Chief Medical Officer, to ensure that programmes of work enable the Trust to transform according to wider strategic plans, meet its objectives and deliver against targets.


Through the delivery of a professional Medical Staffing Service, to ensure the Trust applies and maintains high standards of best practice that reflects changing employment legislation and trends, delivers operational and financial efficiency to develop a modern and healthy workplace for all employees.


Lead on the development, review, and implementation of Medical Staffing policies, interpreting and researching employment law and national NHS policy ensuring that legislative changes are reflected into policy, practice, and process.
