    Description

    We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to work with our multi-disciplinary team to deliver care/interventions to clients who have a learning disability under the supervision of the team psychologist.

    Support multi-disciplinary multi-agency teams and work with staff, families and carers.
    Contribute to teaching, training and research in the department.
    We're an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people's physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.


    As part of the team, you'll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.

    Over 4,000 people make up the Trust. We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals.

    A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
    A 2nd class honours degree, or higher, in psychology, recognised by the BPS
    Intern) Assistant Psychologist with people with cognitive and/or communication difficulties.
    Experience of assessment or psychological testing.

    Intern) Assistant Psychologist or Support Worker with People with Learning Disabilities in health or social care settings.

    High level of communication skills, written and verbal, including the ability to relate to Adults with Learning Disabilities and their support networks
    An ability to apply existing psychological knowledge within a health context.
