Job Title - Head of Service

Job Summary


Acting as the strategic lead for the service department, ensuring the highest level of capability is maintained across Field Service and the workshop to create an aftermarket USP for DiPERK.

Working together with the parts and sales team, develop businessplanning which supports the overall growth of aftermarket activities.


Accountability


Accountable for bringing in and delivering the service budget for the year; through managing a sales team, service controller team, warehouse and field and workshop engineering team to deliver £3m of service sales, £1m of PTS, and manage 3500 New Enginemovements/dressing.

KPI include revenue, GP, SG&A, PTS sales, utilization, aged SWIP & WIP. Make resources available to ensure SHEQ obligations are met. Build internal, external and customers relationships to ensure operational quality of service deliverythrough effective personnel and resource development.

Be the prime mover in building constructive and positive relationships with the wider Organisation to ensure DiPerk remains a positive segment of the Finning Organisation.


Major Job Functions

  • Monitor, update and adapt the service strategic priorities to align with the DiPERK business growth priorities.
  • Deliver service excellence through the service field service and workshop team, ensuring high levels of H&S practice, customer satisfaction and commercial awareness. Ensure correct resourcing levels with the right competency are available to meet marketdemands.
  • Responsible for the Service Pillar and all associated strategic tasks and business planning in accordance with the Distributor Excellence (DE) program. Directly accountable for capability development and delivering against key actions driven out of theDE engagement process.
  • Ensuring optimisation and effectiveness of endtoend commercial process from quote issuance through to order execution, SWIP management, and cash collection including dispute and warranty support. Effectively manages all relevant fiscal KPI's to maintainhighest level of performance responsible for service P&L. Effective revenue forecasting also critical.
  • Align and moderate Sales & Operational personnel to function as a team all working toward high levels of customer experience, reduction in margin erosion and leveraging the full opportunity when presented. Ensure clarity and transparency are in place withregard to commercial risk and customer expectation.

Knowledge

  • Market/sector knowledge including Construction, Power Gen, Ag, and Industrial.
  • Budgeting and planning experience.
  • Organisational capability and competency development within a service context.
  • Level of technical expertise/product knowledge required.
  • Experience working with OEM engineering centres of excellence.
  • Operational excellence background in QA with process innovation mindset.
  • Safe systems of working
  • Risk Assessments & Method Statements development, COSHH Management, accident and incident reporting, safety values, Integrated Management Systems, RIDDOR Reporting. etc

Education and Experience

  • Engineering qualification
  • HNC/HND or equivalent desirable.
  • 10yrs+ industry relevant experience, working at a Senior level for minimum 5 years.
  • Engines technical background.
  • Competent on all MS office systems.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
  • IOSH Managing safely certified (Desirable).
