Royalty & Specialist Protection - Finance Administrator


Salary:
£28,511 to £30,504 plus a Location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £28,511 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £30,504 will be via incremental progression.

Royalty & Specialist Protection (RaSP) provides personal close protection to members of the Royal Family and Ministerial VIPs in the UK and abroad.

They also provide protection to various foreign dignitaries visiting the UK and are responsible for protecting Royal residences in London, Windsor, and Scotland.


This role sits within the Headquarters strand of RASP but involves working with officers and staff from across the command on a daily basis.

The main function of the role is to process, record and act as a point of contact for all payment requests which are crucial in maintaining the effective day-day business of RASP.

By acting as a point of contact for payment requests for the OCU, the Band E role maintains good working relationships between RASP, our vendors, and other stakeholders within the procurement chain by ensuring payments are made in a timely manner and issues are communicated and escalated accordingly.

The role also supports the Finance and Performance Manager in creating costings and data analysis in order to evidence costing submissions and audit activity.


The role is based at Lambeth HQ, and the team are currently operating a Blended Working model of attending the office at least two days a week.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Record and submit payment requests to the relevant approver and department for processing
  • Liaise with external vendors, SSCL, LSS and RASP officers to ensure payment requests are transacted in a timely manner, and issues identified are rectified
  • Issue Local Overtime Codes to RASP officers
  • Record and send Barclaycard reconciliation reminders to RASP officers on behalf of the Finance and Performance Manager
  • Analyse RASP monthly expenses through dipsampling, escalate areas of noncompliance to line management
  • Report quarterly on overseas trips and costings for submission to the Home Office
  • Analyse financial data on an adhoc basis, and present this in an appropriate format e.g., Pivot Table/Graph
  • Provide forecasted and actual large scale event costings for submission to the Home Office for reimbursement, analysing and compiling various data sets
  • Liaise with other constabularies in order to reimburse funds for officers deployed on Mutual Aid during largescale events
  • Assist the Finance and Performance manager in conducting audits on areas of identified risk
