Description

We are looking for an apprentice carpenter to be based on site on various projects around Cambridge. Your will be working alongside our site carpenters and taking instruction from them in accordance with your College training.

Examples of the type of skills you will be working towards are as follows:

First fix carpentry including frames, floors, roofs and internal partitions.
Second fix carpentry including skirtings, architraves, doors and ironmongery.
Staircase installation
Engineered wood flooring installation
Keeping your workspace clean and tidy
Working safely on site

Entry requirements

GCSE Maths and English grades 4 or above desirable.

Training to be provided

The learner will be studying the Carpentry and Joinery Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard qualification
Day release to West Suffolk College.
Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.

Things to consider

Please consider that our projects are almost exclusively in the Cambridge area and therefore the applicant must be able to get themselves to and from work for the site times specified daily as well as to College one day a week.

This apprenticeship will hopefully lead to the full-time and permanent working position of Carpenter within the company.

Working week Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 4pm
