Description

Communication and Relationship Skills Communicating information, risks, issues and dependencies, including briefings and reports Working closely with care providers involved in delivery of the service Develop key relationships, through networking with national and local partners and stakeholders.

Link with managers and members of other functions, to address inter-dependencies and ensure alignment. Support peers across the ICB regions, expanding on knowledge, skills and experience within core functions.

Pro-actively manage stakeholders, respond to and resolve conflict between different stakeholders when this arises through facilitation or other appropriate mechanisms.

Deal with conflicting and contentious situations in a professional empathetic manner. Proactively engage with internal and external stakeholders. Forge close positive working relationships, to support an effective matrix approach to achieve NHS objectives.

Knowledge, training and Experience The post holder will need to maintain a good knowledge of emerging policies from government departments.

This will assist in the thinking and definition of the strategy discussions for the service line and stakeholders.

The post holder will have an extensive knowledge and experience of NHS Continuing Healthcare The post holder will have a wide experience of cross-sector partnership Analytical and judgement skills Undertake research and development as required to support the service.

Use qualitative and quantitative information and work with the Business Team to develop robust business cases and contribute to project and performance outputs Use data to highlight issues, risks and support decision making.

Responsible for proposing and drafting changes, implementation and interpretation to policies & guidelines which may impact service.

Propose changes to own function making recommendations for other processes and service delivery. Ensure the flexibility of services if required to meet conflicting/changing requirements.

Planning and organisational skills Contribute to maintenance and monitoring of service standards around quality Managing the Continuing Healthcare team to ensure that workstream plans are fulfilled and supervised effectively to ensure successful delivery Develop short, medium and long-term business plans, achieving quality outcomes.

Ensure that the services maintain business and clinical focus, have clear authority and that the context, including risks, are actively managed in alignment with the strategic priorities of NHS Responsible for making recommendations, providing advice and able to prepare reports/briefings for the Senior management Team, Steering/Reference Groups and others as required.


Contribute to the development of performance and governance strategies and the development and implementation of improvement programmes Physical skills Keyboard skills Access to vehicle for occasional travel to visit individuals, providers and other site Patient/Client Care Managing & supporting the team in the arrangement of services required to meet the needs of individuals who qualify for NHS Continuing Healthcare and for the healthcare element of a joint care package Fostering transparency and a person-centred approach with patients, families and representatives Ensure the principles and duties of safeguarding are holistically, consistently and contentiously applied Policy/Service Development Manage a team of Continuing Healthcare Assessors, ensuring a high-quality service is delivered, supporting staff to achieve continuous improvement.

Ensuring Continuing Healthcare guidance is followed and services are delivered to maximise patient safety Actively supporting & managing the Continuing Healthcare team in working towards goals and objectives Comply with NHS Codes of Conduct and Standard Business Conduct and/or NHS Trust Standards of Business Conduct policies Finance and Physical Resources Extensive Knowledge of Personal Health Budget process Be responsible for a high standard of work supporting the delivery of services on time, to quality standards and in a cost-effective manner.

Adherence to the budget, ongoing monitoring of expenditure against budget and ensuring the appropriate documentation is available for scrutiny working jointly with Business Manager Human Resources/Staff Management To ensure revalidation of professional registration for self and staff is maintained Support training and induction of new staff Responsible for the recruitment of team staff, chair of recruitment panels and acting as the recruiting officer as required.

Responsible for undertaking appraisal, clinical supervision and personal development including progressing any disciplinary or capability issues.

To ensure own and teams compliance with all statutory and mandatory training To support, motivate and develop staff within the team to ensure that they can deliver the new responsibilities of the NHS strategy Information/Resources Providing accurate and legible recor
