    Title: Relationship Manager

    Location: Remote in the Midlands

    FTE: Full-time, permanent

    Salary: £65,000-£90,000 + great bonus structure

    Buckden Partners is working with a principal lender providing short term property finance to property developers, landlords and investors. This is a key opportunity for you to join a relationship-led lender with customer service at the core of everything we do.

    About the role:

    You will be required to originate profitable new business, working closely with brokers and direct customers. You will take ownership of your deals and develop and manage all your working relationships with customers and brokers alike from the application stage through to loan redemption, providing excellent customer service throughout.

    All applications will require a high level of attention to detail where you will assess lending proposals using strong credit assessment skills. You will ideally have experience within the corporate/commercial banking background where you will have managed a portfolio of SME clients.

    You will often work independently but you will also work in closely with your dedicated support and as part of a wider team to help deliver service standards across the company, to nurture and develop younger staff and to ensure that our joined-up approach to providing outstanding customer service standards is consistent across the company.

    Roles and responsibilities:

    • Building profitable, long-term and mutually beneficial relationships with key strategic partners and contacts within target markets.
    • Taking sole ownership of a large pipeline of cases from application stage through to loan redemption, ensuring company service standards are met at all times.
    • Ensuring that all credit applications are presented in a manner which is compliant with Company policy.
    • Liaising regularly with internal and external departments, such as: processing, credit/underwriting and solicitors, to monitor service standards (SLA's) and deal quality.
    • Utilising client facing experience to execute visits to the property site or development.
    • Proactively seek new business opportunities, using your own experience and trusted introducers.
    • Demonstrating initiative for clients who sit outside of the traditional company lending policy and to justify recommendation to the credit team.
    • Undertaking frequent risk and quality reviews of identified firms and individuals, recording findings.
    • Being able to deliver presentations and host external events.

    Skills and experiences:

    • Underwriting experience desirable, but not essential.
    • Corporate/Commercial Banking background.
    • Experience of Relationship Management.
    • Robust credit assessment skills.
    • Embrace a 'Customer-focused' approach at all times.
