    Sceptre Nursery are registered with OFSTED and follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage). We are housed in a single storey, purpose built building providing care for children from 3 months to 5 years. We have a large exploratory outdoor space.

    What you will be doing

    We are looking to recruit a Level 3 qualified Nursery Practitioner . The successful candidate will be based at the Sceptre Nursery, Sceptre Way, Bamber Bridge, PR5 6AW. Reporting to the Nursery Manager you will carry out learning and development activities with children in the Nursery within a safe and secure environment.

    Your main duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Key person responsibilities
  • Responsibility for the safety, security and well-being of all the children in your care.
  • Communicating clearly with parents/guardians, encouraging them to participate in their child's progress and development
  • Supervising children at play (indoor or outdoor) and at mealtimes
  • Participation in planning a programme of activities, suitable for the age range of the children
  • Assisting in the creation and maintenance of a stimulating and attractive room environment
  • Maintaining a high standard for health, safety and cleanliness throughout the nursery at all times
  • Attending staff meetings and training sessions as and when required
  • It is essential that you hold a full and relevant level 3 childcare qualification along with a valid Pediatric First Aid certificate. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a similar role and have worked with children between the ages of 3 months to 5 years. You will have excellent communication skills in English both oral and written; enjoy working as part of a team and developing positive working relationships. You must have a good knowledge of the EYFS and be responsible for planning and carrying out a wide variety of activities. In addition, you will have a good knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety.
