Head of Risk Management

As the Head of Risk management, you will be a valuable member of the I&C operational team, which is the most eminent sales team within our sector and one of the most innovative, dynamic, and fast-growing within the business.


Your role as the Head of Risk Management entails managing commercial engagement with high-volume consumers whilst being part of a team that is solution driven for clients and thrives on challenging targets.

You are responsible for the creation of tailored strategies and managing the risk exposure relating to the energy markets on behalf of industrial and commercial energy users across the UK/USA.


Your responsibilities:


  • Developing and deploying risk management strategies (from inception to completion).
  • Developing and implementing a consultative strategy with our customers by recognising and articulating appropriate approaches to address the client's needs, and communicating in a way that differentiates us from the competition.
  • Providing expert knowledge on energy commodity fundamentals including Natural gas, Fuels, and wholesale electricity markets.
  • Understanding the key profit drivers, in areas such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Pharmaceuticals and buying frameworks.
  • Focusing on business development to help the wider business, develop a pipeline, and determine the scope of complex and bold strategic risk management solutions.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders across the business to execute customer solutions including the Head of Sustainability Sales, Head of Trading and Key Accounts Director.
  • Supporting the development and execution of company strategy within the management team.
  • Willingness to undertake national and international travel within the EU/USA.

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • A desire to outperform targets and be best in class.
  • Proven ability to establish and manage a commodity strategy.
  • Proven ability to understand macroeconomic trends and technical charting.
  • Be well organized and capable of managing multiple deadlines with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Execution or knowledge of hedging orders with counterparties.
  • Energy contract procurement experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, coding experience is beneficial.
  • Several years of experience working in Risk Management.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.

Up to £80,000.00 per year
