Description

If you are an experienced Principal Clinical Psychologist with a passion for innovative, person-centred mental health rehabilitation then we would love to hear from you This is an exciting opportunity to work in and help shape and lead our newly developing Community Rehabilitation Service supporting individuals with severe and enduring mental illness to access holistic and person-centred rehabilitation.

The Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise sector (VCSE) and Somerset Foundation Trust have successfully partnered to jointly deliver transformed community mental health services to the population of Somerset.

Building on this is the development of an exciting new Community Rehabilitation team provided in collaboration with our VCSE colleagues, to include Rethink, Second Step and Mind.

Our vision is that the new service will offer longer-term support for people, considering the need for a whole-system approach which holistically addresses both physical and mental health care as well as wider social, and housing, needs.

This will be person centred and needs-led and will support individuals to ensure that they do not experience a 'cliff edge' when they transition into, out of, and between, services.

As Principal Clinical Psychologist you will have a key role in helping to shape the service, which we plan to launch in March 2023.

You will take a leadership role within the team, offering support and guidance to both the whole partnership, including SFT and VCSE colleagues, as we will adopting a 'one team' culture.

You will be offering and guiding on psychological interventions for individual's mental health and rehabilitation needs and leading the MDT and VCSE colleagues to carry out appropriate rehabilitation interventions for individuals using the service.

As an organisation, the NHS offers a wide range of benefits including flexible working, fantastic pension contributions, market leading annual leave allowance, career progression and regular conversations, not to mention our Blue Light Card and NHS exclusive discounts.

The benefits of working in Somerset include the idyllic countryside, with our areas of outstanding beauty and stunning coastlines.

You will get to enjoy these perks whilst still only being a stone's throw away from bustling city centres like Bristol, Bath and Exeter and only two hours away from London.

There are excellent educational facilities in the area and, when compared to other regions, house prices are reasonable. You will experience the best of both in Somerset, the countryside and the cosmopolitan - there is truly something for everyone
