The team


The GBRTT Passenger Revenue team brings together a diverse group of individuals with wide ranging experience from outside and across the rail industry.

This high-performing team provides expertise in revenue strategy, analysis and forecasting as well as insights, marketing, and brand.

We are playing a proactive role in driving short-term revenue and planning for long-term revenue growth, enabling GBR to deliver a financially sustainable railway.


The Analysis team works on a diverse set of high-profile analytical and economic projects, including the evaluation of pricing changes and other revenue growth initiatives.

Recent projects include the econometric evaluation of the National Marketing Campaigns, with the findings of this work feeding directly into future marketing and pricing strategies.


The job


We are looking for a Rail Economist / Analyst to join our Passenger Revenue Team, providing analysis, evaluation and forecasting of a range of high-profile industry initiatives that could drive future revenue benefits to the rail industry of millions of pounds.

You'll communicate your analysis clearly, verbally and in writing.

This includes briefing senior internal and external stakeholders and decision-makers, contributing to plans and reports for dissemination to the wider industry.


What we need from you

  • Educated to degree level, preferably in economics or finance, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with spreadsheet best practice approaches and ability to run complex models and build simple models
  • Ability to work at pace and adapt to emerging priorities whilst delivering work to a high degree of assurance.
  • Ability to draw clear insight and recommendations from a complex dataset and articulate complex topics to nonspecialist audiences.
This role is available on a
Fixed Term Contract and
Secondment basis for 18 months.
