The Francis Crick Institute is partnering exclusively with Robertson Bell to recruit a Finance Analyst on a permanent full time basis.
The Francis Crick Institute is a biomedical research centre in London, that has a partnership with Cancer Research UK,Imperial College London, King's College London, the Medical Research Council, University College London and the Welcome Trust.
In this key charity wide role, you'll play a key supporting role for all of the organisations' commercial relationships with partners co-located in the building, as well as supporting new and innovative commercial partnerships in the future.
The key responsibilities will be:
- Coordinating the commercial project group, overseeing the ongoing operational management of existing commercial arrangements including responsibility for the Crick's Trading Company invoicing.
- Strong engagement with teams across the organisation including particularly Translation and Legal teams that are working on commercial proposals and negotiations, providing financial, tax and commercial expertise into the discussions.
- Financially modelling proposed business cases including various scenarios thereof, ensuring engagement and buyin regarding the key assumptions from the relevant stakeholders across the wider organisation.
- Completion of benchmarking and market analysis to ensure understanding of the market landscape and an external reference point for pricing and/or commercial terms proposed.
- Preparation of reports and proposals to leadership to facilitate discussions and decisionmaking around commercial decisions, including preparation for monthly Finance Committee meetings.
- Critically reviewing draft contracts and commercial arrangements and flagging potential concerns to ensure contracts are worded appropriately to manage commercial risk.
- Ensuring internal governance processes are followed, that the appropriate people are engaged and that arrangements are approved in line with delegated authority levels.
- Proactive identification of commercial opportunities.

- Be a partqualified or qualified accountant.
- Have strong communication skills with proven experience communicating with nonfinancial stakeholders.
- Be able to show experience with budgeting and forecasting.
- Have experience with financial modelling as an advantage.
