Company Overview

A leading provider of wireless control solutions for industrial applications, that has been established for over 30 years. They manufacture a diverse product range spanning agriculture, automotive, and automation, the design approach allows customized solutions to meet individual requirements. They are seeking a dynamic Head of Research and Development to play a pivotal role in leading the technical teams, shaping product development, and contributing to product roadmaps.

Role Overview:

This role is a blend of technical expertise, line management, strategic thinking, and commercial support.

Role Scope

• Take ownership of and provide technical guidance to engineering teams, comprising electronics engineers and software engineers
• Ensure a seamless transition between development and production ramp-up, employing effective methodologies and processes.
• Uphold the highest standards in product design and testing, ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards.
• Oversee accurate and comprehensive documentation practices within the team.
• Collaborate with the Senior Management Team to identify and develop new product opportunities, shaping future roadmaps.
• Coordinate effectively with key stakeholders (Suppliers, Partners, Consultants, Engineering, etc.) throughout the Research and Development phase.

Background and Experiences:

• Previous leadership experience in managing engineering teams.
• Extensive knowledge of C language.
• Strong understanding of hardware, emphasizing PCB design and best practices.
• Previous experience in radio technology is highly beneficial.
• Some exposure to CAN would be advantageous
• Proven experience in successfully launching products for medium-volume manufacture.
• Demonstrated innovation and a keen interest in staying updated on industry trends.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
• Alignment with commitment to a collaborative and welcoming culture.
