- Ensure all staff have the necessary skills and are competent to undertake all duties safely, efficiently and to Contract Specification.
- Ensure all works are carried out safely in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
- Produce status and progress reports on site works.
- Ensure all works are undertaken in accordance with the WPP and any deviations from programme timings are reported.
- Undertake track and safety inspections as stipulated by Network Rail Line Standards and CRSA procedures and Contract requirements
- Assist in the production of task briefs.
- Undertake accident/incident investigations as required.
- Procure tool, materials, small plant, lights etc for contracted works.
- Maximize resource utilization for efficient delivery of works.
- Ensure that tasks are executed by skilled personnel.
- Previous experience supervising permanent way maintenance/track renewals.
- HNC in an Engineering discipline or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of track renewals disciplines.
- Excellent knowledge of health & safety at work (HASAW) rules and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to write reports in a clear and concise manner.
- Personal Track Safety (PTS) certified and Controller of Site Safety (COSS) qualified.
- A proficient user of Microsoft Office(formulas,tables, graphs and analysis)
