An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time vibrant staff nurse to work in our Community Psychiatric Rehabilitation Service, which is based at Bodmin Hospital.


The Community Outreach Rehabilitation team provides a service across the whole county of Cornwall supporting people recovering from complex and enduring mental health issues.

The team operates alongside the inpatient ward, Fettle House, allowing the MDT to follow through a service specific rehabilitation pathway for patients as they resume/ establish independent lives outside of the hospital setting.


The post holder will be embedded within the Mental Health Community Rehabilitation Team this includes a multi-disciplinary team, who work alongside carers and other agencies to ensure seamless care provision is provided.

This post will be line managed through the Community Rehabilitation Team.


The staff nurse will be motivated and expected to have excellent communication and therapeutic/professional relationships, demonstrate a variety of communication skills in accordance with service user's needs.

You must be a team player and work well with the multi-disciplinary team and the care teams within the community.

For example, Forensic services, housing, education, pharmacy. You must have effective time management skills. You will be able to compete risk assessments and implement collaborative; individualised, therapeutic, rehabilitation focussed care plans.


You will be able to take full responsibility for your own professional development and be able to provide support to others in their development needs.

Be able to provide clinical supervision to others and through this demonstrate good clinical leadership.


Will have a demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the principles of MH Rehabilitation and be able to promote a positive image of the service to others.

Be able to work both as a team member and as an individual lone worker.


Be willing to supervise and support where necessary, students and other learners working within the team and cognisant of all relevant trust and professional policies relevant to the team.


Maintain portfolio of all relevant training and regular updates of mandatory training as well as annual appraisal and supervision records.

To act as a mentor for student university placements. Having the mentoring qualification or being willing to work towards this qualification and attending mentorship updates as required.
