Description
We have an exciting opportunity at our Liverpool Supply Point for a Food Safety Specialist to join our team.You would be responsible for providing support to site from a food safety perspective to actively drive and promote a Right First Time culture.
You would lead the sites HACCP team as FSHCP team leader to drive continuous improvement and compliance to known standards externally and internally as well as regulatory requirements by ensuring it is robust and embedded in the site culture.
You will also lead and deliver the sites HACCP and food safety awareness training.You will be the go-to person for food safety related topics and be the sites role model for promoting food safety and quality as well as driving those changes where relevant to your area.
To build relationships both internally and externally that challenge and support quality and food safety related topics.Within this remit you would also be responsible for identifying any gaps on site that impact food safety in relation to processes, products, standards/regulations that will mitigate any food safety risks and lead such identifications.
This includes leading any capex-based requirements for such projects.You will be responsible for ensuring products are evaluated appropriately from a food safety perspective during the development in projects or any notified changes and set up as per site cleaning matrix and work with relevant teams to drive improvement upon any known investigations.
Provide support where required with investigations and improvements in relation to food safetyQuality & Food Safety representative for various projects innovations, site processes and equipment introduction/changes to ensure quality requirements are addressed
Communicator of quality on in-house projects (e.g. new processes / systems) to ensure there is no impact on food safety and quality standards are met.
Responsible for the conformity of the flow diagrams and hazard analysis
Implementation and continuous improvement of Food Safety Hazard Control Plan
Maintain food safety management system including verification and compliance with the FSHCP procedure
Preventative Control Qualified Individual overseeing all changes that can have an impact on Food Safety
Perform risk assessments for new developments, change and impact on product
Be responsible for the review of any deviations impacting food safety such as temporary processes
Documented and reviewed HACCP system
Assist the Governance Manager in maintaining and improving the Quality System through audits and system reviews and ensure that effective corrective action is taken when necessary.
Conduct gap analysis within area against any changes to standards or regulationsAssist in FSI (Corporate Standards) projects and ensure relevant systems/processes are compliant
Accustomed with physical processing of food ingredients, especially dry powder
Excellent knowledge of Quality and Food Safety management systems
Excellent communication skills and ability to contribute to cross functional project teams
Proficient in the use of various software packages e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SAP, Guardian, MES, LIMS, Tekdan, Q-Pulse, Orsoft
Ability to assess all scenarios surrounding risk management and analysis
Ability for decision making with an agile and pragmatic approach
Trained in Level 3 Food Hygiene minimum, ideally Level 4
Experience of working in a Quality environment essential
Experience of manufacturing essential
Strong Quality Management / Improvement background advantageous
