- To provide highly specialist psychological assessment and treatment for service users experiencing moderate, severe and complex mental health/psychological problems based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect observation and semi-structured interviews with service users, their family and/or carers.
- To formulate and implement plans for the formal psychological intervention and/or management of mental health/psychological and/or behavioural difficulties based upon an appropriate conceptual framework and exercising expert clinical judgement based on the highest standards of evidence based practice across a full range of care settings.
- To establish rapport and build effective working relationships with service users and all those involved in their psychological, emotional and behavioural well-being.
- To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options taking into account theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes.
- To work jointly with other team members and professionals in delivering the most appropriate clinical service to service users and, where appropriate, their families/carers.
- Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings including outpatient, community, primary care and inpatient settings.
- Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse and the threat of physical abuse.

- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
- Significant Post qualification experience in a Setting relevant to the post
- HCPC Registration as a Clinical Psychologist.
- Completion of formal training to meet eligibility as clinical supervisor of Doctoral Trainee Clinical Psychologists.
- A Current driving licence and access to a car during the working day is essential (reasonable adjustments will be considered for any applicants who are unable to drive due to a disability)

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Clinical or Forensic Psychologist to join the Forensic Outreach Liaison Service for Learning Disability and/or Autism (FOLS LDA) on a fixed-term contract until December 2024. The FOLS LDA service work with adults with a diagnosed learning disability and/or autism who are at risk of contact, or in contact with, the criminal justice system. The service covers West Yorkshire and Barnsley and is a multi-disciplinary team of health professionals. FOLS is an evolving, dynamic service that provides a formulation driven, trauma informed and strengths-based approach to risk management. Clinical decisions and risk management are regularly reviewed together as an MDT. The team provides risk assessment, direct therapeutic interventions and supports transitioning out of secure settings to patients, as well as consultation, advice, supervision and training to relevant services and partners. All employees of the Trust are strongly encouraged to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to protect patients. Main duties of the job The post-holder will be responsible for a caseload of patients, completing high quality forensic risk assessment, intervention and consultation to the patient, other professionals and carers. The post-holder will formulate complex cases, based on structured risk assessment, and support the FOLS MDT to help ensure rigour and quality. They work with patients with varying needs, presenting challenge issues that can be highly emotive and distressing to services and carers, requiring a calm and professional approach. The post-holder will support a psychology assistant in their role and be receive supervision from the 8b psychologist in FOLS, as well as management, reflective and clinical supervision. FOLS employ a strengths based, trauma informed approach to risk management and the post-holder will need to be confident in this approach. There are opportunities to receive further training in forensic specific theory and intervention.
