Equity Analyst - London, United Kingdom - Berkeley Croft

    Default job background
    Description

This is a great opportunity to join one of the world's most respected investment managers as an Equity Analyst.

Our client is top tier asset manager, operating across all major financial hubs. They invest for the long term and with a highly detailed, bottom up fundamental approach to research, across value, growth and quality style funds.

The firm has been expanding their operation within the EMEA region for some time and are now looking to add a junior Equity Analyst to the team in London. At this stage sector/regional coverage is to be decided and could be driven to a degree by the experience of the hire.

We would like to hear from candidates with around 1-3 years' experience (this is not an experienced hire so wouldn't be suitable for people with more than four years experience) and the role would especially suit someone coming from sell-side who is looking to make their first move to buy-side but we are also open to applicants who are already on buy-side, from investment banking, or private equity.

The successful candidate will be working with extremely talented investors and receive a huge amount of personal development and guidance to become an investor. There is a wide scope for progression in the role and no ceiling on where you can get to.

    Duties will involve:

    • Performing fundamental research on companies, modelling financial statements into the future (at least three years+) to assess potential company earnings and/or cash flow
    • In depth industry and security analysis, managing stock watch lists and generating ideas, quantitative and qualitative screening
    • Evaluating financial statements in order to assess the worth of companies using techniques such as discounted cash flow analysis, ratio analysis and more
    • Meeting with company management and reviewing quarterly earnings
    • Pitching investment ideas to Portfolio Managers and being involved in open discussion around current and potential portfolio holdings

    We are looking for:

    • Outstanding academics
    • A genuine passion for financial markets, ideally having managed some personal investments and being well-read around investors/investing
    • 1-3 years' experience from investment management, sell-side equity research, investment banking or private equity
    • Strong and demonstrable financial analysis experience including accounting and financial modelling skills
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally
    • A collaborative approach to work, confidence and humility

Please get in touch for further details.
