Hours: 8am until 5pm Monday to Thursday with a 4pm finish on a Friday

Polytec are looking for a self-motivated, disciplined Electrician for our Cambridge based client.


Responsibilities:


  • Reactive and planned maintenance tasks
  • Certification of works undertaken and appropriate documentation
  • Identify and complete cable repairs, including underground armoured and MICC, LV BUS control and data cables
  • Data networking installations
  • Repair and maintain items of equipment and
  • Install temporary event supplies, both three phase and single phase
  • Respond to emergency callouts outside normal working hours as and when required

Requirements:


  • Extensive knowledge of new and legacy electrical installations
  • Proficient working on installations using and understanding specifications and drawings
  • JIB approved grade electrician (or equivalent)
  • JIB Approved electrical qualifications / level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Installations
  • Preferably qualified to BS7671 current version and IPAF certified
  • Competence in electrical inspection and testing
  • Ability to work to a high practical standard utilising diagnostic equipment, handtools and test equipment
