    Datacenter Dynamics is looking for an ambitious energy & sustainability journalist to join our growing editorial team to support our coverage of the digital infrastructure industry.

    With more than eleven million page views a year and a community measuring in the hundreds of thousands, DCD is a media, conference, and training company that serves the digital infrastructure market.

    DCD is looking for an experienced reporter to cover where energy and sustainability stories intersect with digital infrastructure.

    The growing energy demands of data centers are having a massive impact on energy grids worldwide, at a time when the world is seeking to reach Net Zero goals. DCD is looking for a dedicated senior reporter to cover the intersection of where data centers meet the grid.

    You will be expected to write daily news stories for our audience of data center owners, operators, and suppliers, as well as write regular features for our website, magazine, and supplements. Further down the line, you would be involved in occasional podcast episodes and panel hosting, as well as video content.

    Coverage areas include:

    • Data center & telecoms energy agreements – including PPAs and carbon capture
    • Energy grids and transmission trends
    • Novel energy generation and storage technologies
    • Energy generation and storage trends, including renewable and nuclear power
    • Data center & telecoms sustainability initiatives – including on-site power generation and using data centers as contributors to grid capacity
    • Water usage and availability
    • The impact of climate change on digital infrastructure

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Sourcing and writing news for the website and longer features for the magazine
    • Meeting and interviewing key members of the data center & energy industries, locally and abroad
    • Attend DCD's own events and wider industry events globally
    • Represent the company professionally, demonstrating the company's culture and values at all times

    Ideally, you will have:

    • A relevant degree or equivalent (for example, NUJ accreditation)
    • Some journalism experience covering the energy & sustainability sectors
    • And interest in the technology industry and its ramifications
    • An understanding of the energy sector

    This role will be a mix of office and remote-working; DCD's office is based in London. Some international travel will be expected on occasion.
