    Mechanical Engineer - Warrington - Permanent / Contract (inside IR35

    Your Future Team

    Your Missions

    Support the Mechanical RE and Area Engineering Manager in delivering high-quality design outputs. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Information gathering
    • Investigations/inspections and design
    • Optioneering from 'long list' to 'short list'
    • Identification of success criteria
    • Down selection and development of solutions
    • Layout drawings and initial equipment design drawings
    • Production of supporting calculations
    • Liaison with Stakeholders and Project Management

    Qualifications

    Qualifications/Experience Required

    • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline with 2 years of design delivery experience OR a qualification such as BTEC, HNC, HND, with 5 years of design delivery experience.
    • Ability to demonstrate equivalent SQEP against SL Designer role SR0754.
    • Familiarity and experience with SL Practices, standards, and engineering guides.
    • Experience in producing mechanical-based options/concept designs.
    • Knowledge and past experience using crane and other design specifications and guides (e.g., The Machinery Regulations, LOLER, and PUWER).
    • Capability to produce designs, schemes, drawings, and supporting calculations.
    • Proficiency in liaising with key stakeholders and other design disciplines.
    • Competent in report writing, clearly and concisely reporting findings.
    • Comfortable working under time and cost constraints.
    • Self-management and ability to drive work scope completion.
    • Effective communication with team members and clients.
    • Ability to produce designers' Risk Assessments and design analyses to ensure risk reduction.

    Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
