We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.


We are looking for an adaptable and resourceful Publishing Executive to support all aspects of the commissioning process for the Products and Services directorate in Cambridge International Education, a part of Cambridge University Press & Assessment.


About the role


In the role of Publishing Executive you will be working closely with Commissioning Editors, Delivery teams and colleagues in Marketing and Customer Insight.

This exciting and varied role offers you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills of the publishing industry and commissioning process while gaining insight into the dynamic world of UK and international school education.


Key features of the role will include:

  • Supporting with author recruitment and content sampling
  • Contributing to research activities within the Publishing team
  • Acting as moderator and champion for online teacher panels
  • Reporting on research activities in the online teacher panels that contribute towards product propositions.
  • Assisting Commissioning Editors with the approval and publishing process as required.
  • Attending network events and building an understanding of the education landscape

About you


You will have some previous office-based experience, including confidence in the use of MS Office software, databases and other systems.

You will have an interest in education, customer research or publishing, and our aims of supporting teachers and learners worldwide.


The customer is at the heart of everything we do, and you should be able to provide effective support to all, whether external or internal.

You will be a strong communicator, have a calm and adaptable approach to your work and be able to respond positively to change.
