    Job summary

    This is an excitingopportunity to join an established Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team,based in Reading, Berkshire, following the retirement of the substantive postholder.

    The CRHTT operate on a 24/7 basis and the post holder willbe part of the MDT that supports patients in crisis requiring home treatment asan alternative to admission. The post holder will work Monday Friday, 09:00 17:00, undertaking assessments, MDT meetings and reviews of patients open tothe team and be supported by a range of clinicians which includes psychologyand non-medical prescribers. The CRHTT are gatekeepers for all admissions toProspect Park, where the role is based, which is a purpose-bult mental healthhospital serving the people of Berkshire.

    The service also operates a Police Street Triage Service,has access to Crisis Beds and Crisis Café and is working on national projectsincluding the roll-out of NHS 111 Option 2 and Mental Health Response Vehiclesto support the Right Care, Right Person ambition.

    Essential

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Desirable

  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
  • MRCPsych
  • Additional clinical qualifications.
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Excellent knowledge in specialty.
  • Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
  • Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
  • Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA.
  • Desirable

  • Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.
