**Job Description

  • What You'll Do**The Specialist
  • Sales PGMs role will provide support for the existing commercial team in managing internal and external stakeholders including compliance, risk, KYC and sustainability teams. In particular this role will take the lead in sustainability reporting for the Western hemisphere PGM sales team. The role holder will also develop business with new customers in the jewellery, industrial and emerging sectors for PGMs in the western hemisphere, leading these relationships, and will provide support for fostering and developing other existing relationships.

Performance & Delivery

Sales Strategy

  • Support development of the annual regional sales strategy.
  • Identify and implement new opportunities through prospect identification and cross selling to existing clients
  • Design solutions to meet customer needs and drive these through to implementation including navigating them through internal stakeholders and Anglo American's governance processes.

Plan and Targets

  • Support the PGM sales team in the creation of the annual sales targets and plans for the region.
  • Build on the annual sales plans and targets for the Western hemisphere.
  • Deliver the budgeted sales volume for the Western hemisphere.

Contract Execution

  • Work closely with the legal and sales operations teams to draft contracts accurately to reflect agreed terms as negotiated with customers.
  • Work closely with the sales operations team to oversee the sales execution process and ensure excellent service delivery and quick resolution of customer queries.
  • Address and resolve any customer complaints/service shortfalls.

Optimization & Growth

  • Manage a portfolio of existing customer accounts and develop long term relationships with key customers.
  • Develop new opportunities for sales within the Western hemisphere.
  • Optimize value of sales book throughout the contract negotiation process.
  • Support the implementation of key optimization projects to maximize value for the PGM business.
  • Implement new commercial opportunities through internal and external working relationships and interactions beyond immediate team.
  • Embed sustainability in product offering as a Material Solutions Provider.

Risk and Governance

  • Execute the PGM Western hemisphere strategy within Anglo American's defined risk and governance framework.
  • Engage with the risk and governance team to drive understanding and development of further types of new business.
  • Qualifications
  • Understanding and experience of commodity industry and landscape.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles.
  • An understanding of the economic, commercial and political issues affecting the commodities market.
  • Expertise in global commodity markets and their drivers.
  • Knowledge of commodity value chains.
  • Experience/knowledge of the precious metals market, technical specifications and operational knowledge
  • Creative mindset to optimize existing processes and deliver additional valueadd solutions
  • Sound knowledge of financial management.
  • Sound knowledge of contract management.
  • Deep understanding of marketing fundamentals (ie. pricing, delivery strategy, value chain dynamics, net back calculations).
  • Knowledge of regional business culture.
