    Description

    Role Title:
    Apprentice Pre-School Practitioner

    Reports to:
    Pre-School Manager

    Pay Grade:
    National Minimum Wage
    Hours of work: 37 per week, term time only (with protected time for study/course work each week)

    To assist the Pre-School staff, as part of a professional team, in working with children on their educational and social development and provide a high quality of care.

    Under the direction and supervision of qualified staff, assist in the delivery of activities enhancing children's educational and social development
    Attend to children's personal needs including assisting the children at meal times
    Assist other staff with the assessment procedures to ensure children's progress is satisfactory
    Keep records of your key children's development and learning journeys
    Experience of working with children (minimum one year)
    Hold a relevant and recognised Level 2 qualification
    Hold a recent Paediatric First Aid Certificate
    Good communication and writing skills
    Ability to build and maintain partnership working with parents to enable children's needs to be met

    To have due regard for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and to follow the child protection procedures adopted by Rydal Penrhos School as outlined in the school's Safeguarding Policy
    To assist staff in the day to day implementation of the school Visitor Policy
    To carry out designated school fire evacuation role and adhere to fire evacuation procedure in the event of a fire and during a fire drill
    To adhere to the school's Health and Safety Policy and procedure

    This post will be exempt from the provisions of Section 4 (2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders 1974 (Exemptions) (Amendments) Order 1986.
