    Specialty Doctor in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

    NHS Medical & Dental:
    The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust is looking for a specialty doctor Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
    This is a non-resident on call shift and is paid in addition to their standard contractual salary. To participate in minor oral surgery and fast track clinics in the department as required.

    • To deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with clinical teams andcommissioners.
    • The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) is the main provider of acute hospital services foraround half a million people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and mid Wales.

    Our main service locations are the Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in Telford and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital(RSH) in Shrewsbury which are located 20 minutes' drive apart.

    Both hospitals provide a wide range of acute hospital services including accident & emergency, outpatients,diagnostics, inpatient medical care and critical care.

    A formal job plan will be agreed between the successful candidate and their Clinical Director and consultantcolleagues, on behalf of the Medical Director within 3 months of starting in post.

    A full-time job plan is basedon a 10 PA working week. Specialty doctor professional practice including clinical work, teaching, research, education and managerialresponsibilities. Full General Dental Council (GDC) registration
    BDS or equivalent
    4 years of postgraduate training with 2 years in specialty (or have achieved the necessary equivalent competencies
    ~ A strong appreciation of the scope of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery - Ability to apply sound clinical knowledge and judgement to problems - Ability to prioritise clinical need - Ability to maximise safety and minimise risk - Recognition of, and ability to undertake the initial management of, an acutely ill patient
