    Description

    A Manufacturing Engineer is required for a materials manufacturer at their global centre of excellence, a manufacturing facility that's recently undergone significant investment and is working on a range of new projects from both new and existing customers.


    A great opportunity has arisen to join the business as a Manufacturing Engineer, supporting existing operations, working on projects to increase productivity, improve capacity and reduce waste, with a strong focus on problem solving and root cause analysis to bring about process improvements.

    Key skills


    • HNC/HND/Degree qualification in an Engineering discipline
    • Notable experience in a similar role – production support in a manufacturing setting – as a manufacturing engineer, production engineer or maybe a plant quality engineer – with a strong focus on problem solving and improving processes.
    • Knowledge of one of the following processes/materials would be advantageous - papermaking, tissue, fabric, foil, film, coating, plating, lamination, plastic moulding, resins
    • Must have very solid experience in a range of practical problem-solving tools – such as 8D, 5Y, Ishikawa, Pareto, Cpk, Six Sigma – with a view to reaching true 'root cause' and implementing sound corrective and preventative actions
    • Data literate and advanced MS Excel – able to extrapolate large amounts of data
    • Strong project management skills
    • A 'safety first' mentality and belief


    Most importantly we seek an inquisitive and tenacious Engineer, passionate about process optimisation, who can act as a conduit between different departments and engage others in project work, with highly developed analytical and problem solving skills.
