    Join our dynamic team at NHS Blood & Transplant and be part of something truly rewarding. We're expanding our dedicated administrative team within Tissue and Eye Services, and we want you on board.

    As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for managing orders, dispatches, and general administrative tasks. You will play an active role in the day to day running of this fast-paced environment tasked with processing large amounts of work accurately, and within agreed timescales ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

    You will be involved in developing best practice in a department committed to team working and continuous improvement. You will also undertake an extensive induction and training programme and receive ongoing development to support you in your role and achieving your career ambitions.

    This role provides an excellent level of experience and satisfaction in your career. This is a very emotive but very rewarding and worthwhile role in supporting NHS Blood & Transplant in achieving its strategy to provide hospitals with an adequate blood supply.

    Main duties of the job

    You will work as part of the Customer Services team and will be involved in:

  • Liasing with hospitals and patients to process orders from receipt to dispatch
  • complaint / compliment handling
  • booking couriers
  • invoicing
  • internal and external audit
  • You will update the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database and other systems key to the department.

    Following training, using the infromation manuals provided, you will provide advice to customers in relation to tissue storage, tissue preparation and licensing requirements.

    As well as working with our customers (mostly hospital staff), youd also deal with the public so its important that you have experience of working with people in a similar role and the customer-service skills that come with that.

    Alongside confident communication skills, both in person and in writing, youll need a good working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel and the organisational skills to keep accurate records, youll call on your knowledge and all-round experience of office procedures and equipment to really make this role your own.

    You will be required to participate in a shift pattern working between the hours of 8am 6pm Monday to Friday and 8 am 4 pm on weekends and bank holidays.

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • Advanced keyboard skills to OCS (RSA) level 2 certificate in text processing or equivalent or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five GCSE's (including Maths) at Grade 'C'.
  • Qualified to A level standard in English or NVQ 2 or 3 in Customer Care/equivalent qualifications.
  • Demonstrate committment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD)
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office in particular Word and Excel, along with general IT Knowledge.
  • Experience of using spreadsheets and manipulating data
  • Experienced in the handling of customer/service user complaints.
