Accounts Assistant - Barnstaple/Hybrid - UP to £28,000


Butler Rose is currently supporting an established Barnstaple-based company with the recruitment for an Accounts Assistant on a 6-month contract.

This vacancy has arisen due to recent growth and it's an exciting time to be joining this company as they continue to go from strength to strength.


  • Salary up to £28,000
  • Hybrid working (3 days in office)
  • Full time, 37.5 hours, part time option minimum 30 hours considered
  • Half days on Fridays
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays + additional time off for wellbeing
As part of this Accounts Assistant role, you will be tasked with:

  • Credit Checking new clients
  • Agreeing payment terms
  • Issuing credit notes & sending out statements of Accounts
  • Prepare debtors reports for monthly review meeting
  • Match invoices against Credit Notes & Purchase Orders
  • Set up fortnightly payment run
  • Supplier statement reconciliations


To be considered for this Accounts Assistant role you will have recent & demonstrable experience in both Purchase Ledger & Credit Control.

You will have strong Excel skills and be familiar with an ERP system (for example SAP, Oracle, Access).
