Avanti West Coast are currently looking to create a talent bank for Short Term Planners to join our planning team base at Birmingham.


The Short-Term Planner role works within the Train Planning team who are responsible for producing the Avanti West Coast timetable as well as planning our response to engineering work.

The post-holder will be responsible for developing detailed, fully resourced STP train plans and timetables.


ESSENTIALS INCLUDE:

  • Develop detailed, fully resourced STP train plans and timetables.
  • Use engineering works information from Network Rail (NR), to devise the most effective train plan including routine midweek engineering activities.
  • Be aware and liaise with colleagues to understand the content and implications of D/CPPP documents as required.
  • Understand the implications of engineering access plans on depot access and the ability to meet train maintenance and stabling requirements; reflect these in the proposed STP timetable plans, and ensure this information is made available to the Train Service Providers (TSPs).
  • Ensure that NR engineering and TOC train plans are thoroughly checked to ensure compatibility.
