Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estate Management Surveyor to join a public sector organisation based in Barking.


The organisation acts as the landlord for all property assets (housing stock, operational and commercial property assets) as well as developing and managing the organisation's asset related capital programme.


The role will be based at the organisation's office in Barking, there is a hybrid working model with most of the team working from the office 2 days a week and manage their own caseload.


Key duties:

  • Dealing with a mixed caseload regarding estate management issues connected with the commercial portfolio
  • Assist the Head of Commercial Team in ensuring the service meets the need of an evolving organisation
  • Ability to negotiate property transactions and prepare and present reports to cabinet as and when required
  • Undertake outstanding lease renewals and rent reviews, lease extension valuations, land disposal valuations, dealing with restrictive covenants, wayleaves, and audit valuations undertaken by external Chartered Surveyors
  • Undertake and negotiate leasing agreements to regularise the occupations of park building and community assets. Extensive Valuation knowledge and skill is required to undertake the valuations and manage a varied portfolio
  • Work closely with and liaise with various stakeholders within the organisation
  • Assist in managing the the organisation's commercial portfolio and advise on all property related issues such as land sales, property acquisitions, leasehold negotiations and strategic property decisions

Key Skills/Experience Required:

  • RICS qualified
  • Experience and extensive knowledge of estate management matters, Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
