    Applications are invited for a new full time NHS Stroke Consultant.

    Stroke at CUH is a highly regarded service benefiting from excellent integration between Medicine and Neurology within a Comprehensive Neurosciences Centre.

    It is the regional thrombectomy centre and currently offers a 7/7 daytime service. There are excellent facilities including a busy research unit conducting original research and recruiting many portfolio trials.

    We are looking for a Consultant Stroke Physician to join a team of stroke physicians and neurologists delivering the full range of stroke care with excellent facilities, including a hyper-acute Stroke unit (HASU), hyper-acute stroke research centre (HSRC) and a rehabilitation unit (Lewin Unit).

    The successful candidate will play an integral role in helping us develop stroke services further in Cambridge.

    You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in General Medicine, Neurology, Geriatric or Acute Medicine plus a stroke CCT (stroke fellowship year) or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview.

    Leadership is a key requirement of doctors' professional work and this innovative programme is designed to support Consultants to hone the leadership and management skills they need to succeed at CUH.

    The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice Applications from job seekers who require skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications.
