    We have an exciting new opportunity where we are looking for a seasoned Enterprise Data Architect who will be expected todevelop and manage the enterprise data architecture for the Legal and General Retirement Institutional business division.

    This also includes defining the enterprise data strategy and governance for the organisation in a data rich business.

    The role holder will ensure that all aspects of the data architecture will meet the requirements of Group IT and Divisional principles and lead the execution of the technology data strategy in support of transformation portfolio initiatives.

    Developing and maintaining the Enterprise Data Model (EDM) for LGRI, leveraging industry best practice or standards to ensure interoperability as appropriate.

    Develop and own the data layer of the reference architecture, providing insight and guidance for all data related design activities

    Proactively engage and support key stakeholders in strategic planning processes and provide the information and insight required for effective decision making relating to data.

    Developing, planning and maintaining the technology LGRI enterprise data strategy supporting business data outcomes. Monitor and report progress against the implementation of the data strategy

    Collaboratively develop, define and standardise the key high-level data principles, methodologies and data standards relating to data in the LGRI division.

    Chair the data design delivery forum ensuring that data delivery decisions are taken in-line with business need and technology/data strategy principles.

    Support data related design activities in projects leveraging industry best practice knowledge and drive alignment to strategic direction or business needs of a project
    Liaise and participate in Data-related groups and governance forums across the L&G Group to share data architecture expertise, knowledge and best practice to support defining organisation wide data strategies and standards as well as ensuring ongoing alignment on data related activities
    TOGAF and Enterprise Architecture Scaled Agile SAFe advantageous
    Knowledge of world class technology organisations with a focus on data. Bringing strong external perspectives of developments in data related technology
    Knowledge of data management within a federated organisation
    Financial services related experience of data architecture. Insurance, Asset Management, and Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) advantageous
    Experience of data platform technologies (preferably Azure), with proven experience in developing data architectures in a complex multi-supplier environment
    Experience in conceptual, logical and physical data model design
    Experience or knowledge of how data supports AI based outcomes and how improvements in data underpin AI model performance improvement
