Simpson Judge are working an established business with offices based in Chester, they are looking for a Finance Manager to be responsible for the day to day running of the accounts department.


Duties

  • Monitor the day to day financial operations within the company being able to fill the gaps where required i.e. staff absence
  • Complete VAT returns
  • Oversee financial department employees
  • Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
  • Seek out methods to minimising financial risk to the company
  • Stay up to date with technology advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company
  • Monitor and interpret cash flows and predict future trends
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and monthly reporting of any findings
  • Complete month end on time
  • Oversea the cash flow management
  • Contribute P&L budgeting and reforecast process
  • Create and manage KPI responsibility within the department with support
  • Manage external tax and R&D queries
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for all the accounts on a weekly basis
  • Manage fixed asset register and HP register

Skills

  • Qualified in accounting, business, economics, finance or related field
  • Several years of experience in a finance role
  • Superior mathematical skills
  • Leadership skills and experience
  • Employee management
  • Knowledge and understanding of data privacy standards
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to multitask and problem solve
