    Position Title: Build Technician

    Duration: Contract

    Location: Woking, Surrey

    Pay Rate: £22.80ph Umbrella company (PAYE also available)

    Shift Hours: 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Friday

    Purpose of the Role:

    • Facilitate and support the preparation of vehicles through the Uplift team for the pre-owned vehicle market and support the process of reworking new vehicles for region conversion

    Role Dimensions:

    • The role requires an intelligent, resourceful and pragmatic technician with extensive experience of automotive manufacturing preferably in the super car or luxury brand market.
    • A great team player who can work within a multi-functional team and is capable of taking the initiative and working autonomously, while actively following processes and meeting target deadlines to achieve

    Principal Accountabilities:

    • Working closely with members of the Uplift team to build and prepare high-quality De-fleet/Uplift or conversion vehicles for the pre-owned and new sales market which could include, full or partial repaint, mechanical, electrical and software updating
    • Co-ordinate simultaneous vehicle builds/updates in an effective and intelligent manner, managing conflicting priorities within tight deadlines to meet the overall Uplift objective
    • Develop good working relationships with members of the core build team to ensure effective problem resolution and efficient communication of technical issues
    • Work within the Uplift processes to ensure compliance for all vehicle reworks
    • Competently and accurately manage documentation for robust record keeping and sign off
    • Deliver the vehicles to the sales team at the highest quality of mechanical and aesthetical standard in line with the Clients' brand
    • Ensure best working practises and the Clients' health and safety policies are adhered to and followed at all times
    • Have a flexible approach to working within the wider team and willing to perform additional workshop based duties when required

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

    • Extensive development vehicle build experience, from whole-vehicle down to component level
    • A comprehensive knowledge of vehicle architecture and a competent knowledge base in the safe use and operation of supporting automotive equipment
    • Experience of supporting and maintaining pre-production vehicles, and an ability to contribute to component and system fault diagnosis
    • Good degree of computer literacy
    • Ability to interpret engineering specifications and drawings and or build instructions
    • A team player able to motivate themselves and others and deliver to a high standard at all times, whilst working under pressure and to tight deadlines
    • Able to contribute to continuous improvement and identify areas for improving workshop efficiency
